Custard tart recipe coconut

  • 250 g flour
  • 125 g butter
  • 70 g caster or icing sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 5 cl of water (or milk)
  • 1 pinch salt
Custard cream:
  • 1 l of milk
  • 1 vanilla pod
  • 150 g caster sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 50 g flour
  • 40 g cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons rum
  • 50 g of grated coconut
  1. Preheat oven to 200 ° C.
  2. For the pastry: mix the flour, grated coconut, sugar, salt together then add the soft butter and sand with your fingers. Add the glass of milk and knead until a smooth ball. The dough should be soft and smooth. Let it rest for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
  3. Once this time elapsed line the bottom of a pie pan of this paste and set aside.
  4. For the custard cream: Prepare the custard cream thrilling milk. Split the vanilla pod in two in the lengthwise and scrape the seeds in, add the milk with the pod.
  5. In a bowl, work the sugar and the eggs, then add the flour. Stir slowly with milk (after removing the vanilla), whisking briskly. Put everything into the pan and thicken a few minutes over low heat.
  6. Pour the cream over the pastry and bake about 40 minutes at 200 ° C. Turn out and serve hot cold.
